Hello Reader, A very warm welcome if you're new here. Every couple of weeks I pop into your inbox with a little gift wrapping inspiration, ideas to try and, quite often, a peek at what I've been practising too. Because yes, I still practise! 😃 My favourite gift wrapping technique has got to be pleating. Whether it's what I'll call an ordinary pleat, a fanned pleat or pretty much anything in between, I love how something as simple as folding the paper can completely change the look of a gift, adding interest without needing any other decoration. And just like any gift wrapping technique, perfecting pleating takes practice. Even for me. This week I decided to spend a bit of time with some practice paper working on alternating angled pleating. Rather than the pleats running straight across the gift, they're created at an alternating angle, giving a completely different effect. It took a little playing around with the folds to get them sitting exactly how I wanted them, which is exactly why I keep practice paper handy. There's much less pressure when you're not using the beautiful paper you've been saving for the perfect gift!
