I can never resist pretty paper...

Hello Reader,

Hope you all had a great Easter!

After a short break away over the weekend to stay with my husband's parents, the rest of this week has been a bit of a mix of busier moments, some quieter ones, and a chance to ease back into things after the Easter break. The four day week is a definite bonus.

I’ve found myself leaning into those quieter pockets of time a little more. Not rushing to fill them, but using them in a way that still feels useful, while also fitting in the last few weeks of training ahead of the Boston Marathon (maranoia has already set in....😳).

One of those moments this week involved a small gift wrapping haul (see pic) I picked up over the holiday weekend. I’m always on the lookout for new designs, even when I don’t strictly need any more paper - another husband rolling his eyes at me moments 😆

If you've not discovered Søstrene Grene yet, I highly recommend a trip to one of their stores, they're popping up all over the place. It is quickly becoming one of my favourite places for wrapping paper (and a few other things I didn’t realise I needed until I saw them).

And rather than saving it all for “later”, I’ve been using those quieter moments to practice.

  • Trying out different techniques
  • Seeing how the paper behaves
  • Testing what works well for more detailed finishes

It’s something I always come back to, keeping things ticking over in the background, so when things get busier, everything feels that bit easier.

Mother’s Day has passed, Easter has come and gone, and there’s a subtle shift into lighter colours, softer tones, and a slightly different pace - hence my choice of gift wrapping colours (the cherry one is even double sided!).

For now, I’m keeping things simple, showing up when I can, keeping things moving, and enjoying those small moments in between.

Lou

P.S. A little while ago I ran a poll on Instagram to see what you'd like me to do videos of, paper pleating & wrapping a Toblerone came out top! So I will be sharing these in a few weeks time 🙂
